Make-A-Wish t-shirt design competition winner
The winning entry in the Hallensteins X ProDesign 'Make A Wish' t-shirt competition.
And the winner of the inaugural Hallensteins X ProDesign t-shirt competition is Wellington graphic designer… Andrew Harbott.
Harbott has a special interest in t-shirt design, and has had a number of designs already published at Threadless.com and Recycleatee.com.
Says Harbott: “I thought it was a great opportunity to create something fun, unique and wearable for a good cause. I also wanted to tie the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Hallensteins in to the concept. That’s where the idea of the genie in the cool retro sports jacket came in. I kinda like the idea of someone with a bit of attitude and personality like 'the Fonz' being a genie, granting wishes to those who need them.”
Fair enough. If you love tees, take a look at some of Harbott's other designs after the jump. If you love tees even more, keep an eye out for our next issue and the t-shirt designs submitted by Friends of Design, Federation, Bro'Town, Cut Collective, Inhouse Design, Otis Frizzell, Derek Henderson, Studio Alexander, Shine, Stephen Richardson, Glennz and Oktober.
'Downsized Dreams', coming soon to a t-shirt near you. "Times are tough. A recession-inspired graphic," says the designer.
'In The Fast Lane', printed at Threadless in 2007. "This graphic was inspired by the slot car set I used to have when I was younger. I thought it would be a fun idea to add fully grown adults dressed in full racing gear taking the race very seriously."
'City Roots', printed at Recycleatee.com in 2009. "This graphic was done for a unique clothing line with the emphasis on being environmentally friendly. It’s a simple graphic with a mix of nature vs the urban environment in which we live in."
'A Shit Of A Job', unprinted. "I’m sure everybody has days like Lou here. By the way this isn’t a reflection on how I feel. I’m generally happy, no really, I am."
'King Nep-Tune', coming soon to a t-shirt near you. "This is my take on King Nep-Tune. An underwater legend, complete with original 1980s electric guitar-fork."
