News: Type Awards for Alt
Auckland-based designers continue search for bigger trophy cabinet.
Alt Group has started off the new year where it left off the last – with a swag of awards. The latest gongs are three Certificates of Typographic Excellence in the Type Directors Club TDC56 competition in New York. The firm received two awards for its work on the Vigneron – a project designed to commemorate the life of Alt Group director Ben Corban’s grandfather, Najib Corban, of the Corbans wine dynasty – and one award for its “holey” poster, which was designed to draw attention to climate change by using magnifying glasses and the sun to burn the word “OUCH” into paper.
Alt Group’s three award-winning designs will be showcased in the Type Directors Club Annual, Typography 31.
