In the best interests of doing our bit for the promotion of visual culture in New Zealand, or something like that but less grandiose sounding, we're happy to point out that Illustrator and animator Mardo El-Noor has his latest short film Rock Paper Scissors playing at the New Zealand Film Festival on 22 and 23 July. El-Noor's previous film, In The Name of Art, which you can check out below, was shown at the Milano Film Festival, and other fests around the world. Rock Paper Scissors is part of 'Homegrown: Quirky Stories', a "spicy mix of funny and imaginative stories that span animation, documentary and experimental genres". One for the diary then.
